FAQ

 

I. School Suspension, Resumption, Withdrawal, and Student Status

Q: When am I eligible to apply for school suspension and what is the maximum suspension permitted by NCUE? 
A:

You can suspend your schooling at NCUE for a maximum of two academic years.To suspend schooling, an application shall be made prior to the start of final examinations for that semester.Please refer to Article No.48 of NCUE's Academic Regulations for further details.

Q:What are the necessary documents and application procedure for school suspension?    

 A:

To suspend during the current semester, please fill out the application online at(http://120.107.178.150/ST/Index.aspx)and print out the form. Once approved by the relevant department or graduate institute, please submit the form to the Registration Division for approval. Afterwards, please apply for the exit procedure (The Exit Procedure Form can be downloaded from the Registration Division website) and submit your application, along with a self-addressed and stamped envelope for the delivery of the Certificate of Suspension. Those who fail to make payment prior tothe registration date shall be responsible for paying for the tuition and miscellaneous fees pursuant to the Regulations for Collecting Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees from Students above College. Q:How do I apply to resume schooling after suspension?

 A:  

Please apply to resume schooling online prior to the approved suspension end date at(http://120.107.178.150/other/OA/OA040.aspx)For those students who suspended schooling because of military service, pregnancy, or maternal leave for children under three shall submit the Order of Discharge, the child’s Birth Certificate, or other documentation to the Registration Section.

Q: How can I apply to withdrawal from school?

 A:

1. For those students voluntarily withdrawing from school, please fill out the application online at (http://120.107.178.150/ST/Index.aspx)print out the application form. Once approved by the relevant department or graduate institute, the Registration Division, and the President, the applicant shall apply for school exit (The Exit Procedure Form can be downloaded from the Registration Division website) and submit the application and student ID, along with a two-inch ID photo and a self-addressed and stamped envelope for the delivery of the Certificate of Study.

2. 2. Those students studying at NCUE who are approved for withdrawal for more than a semester with grades will be given the Certificate of Studyonce completing the exit procedure and submitting the student ID.

Q: How do I apply for a department (graduate institute) transfer? When will I find out the result of my application?
A:

1.The transfer application form can be downloaded online at (http://acadaff2.ncue.edu.tw/front/bin/ptlist.phtml?Category=28).Please complete and submit the application within the stipulated deadline to the original department (graduate institute, college),as well as the department (graduate institute) applying to be transferred to. Regarding transfer regulations, please refer to the admission guidelines, NCUE Transfer Regulations, and current announcements of the respective department (graduate institute).

2. The Registration Division will call a transfer review meeting to be held on a stipulated date and post an online announcement prior to the start of the next semester once approved by the President.

Q:How can I apply for deferred graduation?

 A:

 

1. Undergraduate students that fail to take the minimum required credits of the department within the set study period may apply to defer graduation for a maximum of two years. Graduation will automatically be deferred for students that fail to take the minimum required credits. No application is necessary. For further details, please refer to Article No.17 of NCUE's Academic Regulations. 

2. Students that have taken the minimum required credits but want to defer graduation because of taking courses in the Education Program, a minor, a double major, or other programs shall apply for deferred graduation to the Registration Division one month prior to the end of the semester. Applicants' graduation can be deferred once the application is approved by the related authorities.

II. Changing Personal Information

Q:How can I change my name in NCUE's records?

 A: 

If you require a name change, please complete the Application Form for a Name Change and submit it along with the certificate attesting to the change (original of the Household Registration Certificate) to the Registration Division during operating hours.

Q:How can I change my address in NCUE's records? 

 A:

To change your permanent address in NCUE’s records, please complete an Application Form for Address Change and submit it along with the certificate attesting to the change(ID or Household Registration Certificate) to the Registration Division.

To change your contact address with NCUE, please complete the Application Form for Address Change in person at the Registration Division and mail the Application Form to the Division from that address.

III. Graduation

Q:When can I pick up my diploma if I become eligible for graduation after taking summer courses? 

 A:  

You may pick up your diploma once the grades of your summer courses have been submitted to the Registration Division and your graduation eligibility has been confirmed. 

Q:What is the maximum study period for MA and PhD Programs? 

A: 

The maximum study period for an MA program is one to four years while that for a PhD program is two to seven years. For further information, such as the minimum required credits for graduation, please refer to the specific regulations of each department (graduate institute).~4 

IV. Application for Student Status and Transcripts
Q:How can I apply to get my student status or a transcript?

A:

1. Applying in person: Please apply using the student status and transcript machines located on the first floor of the east wing of the Administration Building, Jinde Campus. For NCUE students, the transcript in Chinese can be printed out directly through the machine. For alumni, once the receipt is submitted to the service counter of the Registration Division on the second floor, the transcript will be available for pick-up within the service period (The same day for transcripts in Chinese; five to seven business days for student status certificates in Chinese and English and transcripts in English).

2. Applying by mail: Download the Application Form for Student Status and Transcripts online on the Registration Division website(http://acadaff2.ncue.edu.tw/front/bin/ptlist.phtml?Category=28)Specify the number of documents needed, purchase a money order for the appropriate value at the post office (with the title of National Changhua University of Education), and submit it, the application form, and a self-addressed and stamped envelope to the Registration Division. The required documents will be sent back to you in the envelope that you provided.
